Pick Up Golf
Many people when they are beginning to pick up golf spend more time
perfecting their golf swing than discovering any other single skill for
golf. You should also expect to have this same need, after all a
terrible golf swing will result in poor playing skills while a stable
and refined swing will make you highly successful.

Yeah, swinging from the inside too much.....but since you are a 1.2, you probably already knew that huh?!!! To be a 1.2......you are hitting it close AND draining putts like nobody's business.......are you trying to get to a + 2? Then sink more putts. If you need lessons to do that, then so be it. |

If you're struggling all of a sudden, you could also be overgolfed. Take a week off and then go back. It's a world of difference. |

Yes, you should get a golf coach. But be careful, he could change your entire swing if he thinks, that something is wrong with it. You could buy a book or two about golf and practice by the book, it's a very good "exercise ". You can also buy some training equipment and practice with that. I personally read books about golf and watch tutorial videos on VideoJug (the videos are great! = D) Well, hope this helps, = D |

Matey if you hitting the right and left blocks and pushes try swinging a little more upright i had the same problem about 2 months ago did that and i am now playing well if that doesn't work try gripping down the club and swinging easy at the ball |

The flaw may not be in your swing, it may be in your clubs. Have you ever been professionally fitted ? When players reach scores in the low 70's, it requires that you be more knowledgeable about all aspects of the game ( mental, putting, club technology, emotional, course management, strategy) in order to maintain that level and then improve. So my recommendation would be to expand your knowledge base as much as possible - this will lead to revelations about the game you have never had. |

This forum has a lot of teenagers who say they play well or very well and then want help and they spend more time talking about how good they are then throw in a request for help when (in reality) if they were really as good as they say - they would already have the answer to their question. How is it that someone who scores 73 is looking for answers to questions relating to a big hook or some other flaw that doesn't make sense for a 1 HDCP golfer. Your ego is your biggest problem. If you've never had a lesson then you're very bright and if you're very bright then you've already studied golfers and obtained tips and lessons without paying for an official lesson. The real question is: Can you teach any of what you know? If you can't then you don't know anything other than feel and feel will leave you as quickly as it comes. The only person to brag about their talent should be the other people who talk about that individual. Even Tiger Woods has stated Ben Hogan was a better ball striker so your 1st lesson is one in Humility. Your 2nd lesson is one of knowledge. You can't learn without humility. Where to seek knowledge? Certainly not from someone who may already feel you're a good player. If you want to make the Tour then you need to seek a golf coach who can get you there. You need a Mr. Myagi and only you know if you will listen. Watch the Bobby Jones Tapes and look at his hands at impact. Forget about his swing only look at his hands and impact. No one has ever held their hands at impact like he had. You want to play better then hold your hands at impact like Bobby Jones. |

JJ, Before lessons, which are really expensive, try some free online lessons. This page has great free golf instruction with hundreds of free how-to instructional videos: thisishowyoudoit.com/ category/ sports/ how-to-play-golf/ You may be particularly interested in the page related to the golf swing which you can find here: thisishowyoudoit.com/ how-to-swing-a-golf-club/ Also, video yourself swinging and you'll often identify your mistake immediately. Hope this helps. Cheers, Richard |

Whenever you hear someone yell "FORE ", you yell back "CLOSURE! " In fact, I think that's exactly what President Obama does when he plays golf. |
