Many people when they are beginning to pick up golf spend more time
perfecting their golf swing than discovering any other single skill for
golf. You should also expect to have this same need, after all a
terrible golf swing will result in poor playing skills while a stable
and refined swing will make you highly successful.

Hi, I have just been watching the Golf on the TV and I thought it looked like a cool sport to play. I'm 13 and have played a little bit before but not very well. Does anyone have any tips for me that would help me improve my game? (Please dont suggest lessons because I have heard that idea many many times before. Also the clubs i have at the moment are to heavy i think, so if you have any tips on how to build up a bit of muscel in my arms would be nice. Thank you for all you help..

Hi Dude, It's cool that u want to play golf. It's a cool game! Look if u or your parents can't pay for any lessons just find yourself a mentor, you know someone who's a pretty good player and go ahead and ask for a bit of help. Most guys would be happy to get u going in the right direction. Heck, they will probably loan you a few of their prized how to play Golf books as well! Then Google 'Golf Tips' and you will get more than u need. And get out there and practise. Good luck, it is a cool game. Cheers

Save yourself a lot of grief and money and don't start playing the game. That's the best advice I can give you.

Welcome to the world of Golf... It is a fantastic journey into this game and within yourself... First and foremost above all things, no matter how good, or how poorly you do at times, it is very important to realize that what your doing is such a fantastic get-a-way into another world... We each have our learning curve to get through, as we strive to try to do better every time...dont beat yourself up so bad...and for now, score is secondary, to the most important aspect of this great game...to enjoy the moment, no matter what happens. You will meet all kinds of players...from the quiet, good mannered player, to the know-it-all...telling you how to play during your round...be yourself...tips are gr8 if they are asked for...if it wasnt asked, then tell them to tend to their own garden... It isnt a matter of beating the other player, as it is more of a test of yourself...how you handle a situation that you got no one to blame but yourself, and how to overcome the trouble of the course...just to say, that even though you lost a few balls along the way, you got through the course. Enjoy my friend...it is one of the best things in life.

Regardless of whether or not you want to hear it or not. Lessons and practice are the only things that are going to allow you to improve. you can get all the tips in the world....if you do not have the basics of a sound repeatable swing you will be just another hacker. I am sorry if this sounds harsh....but it is the truth!.
