Pick Up Golf
Many people when they are beginning to pick up golf spend more time
perfecting their golf swing than discovering any other single skill for
golf. You should also expect to have this same need, after all a
terrible golf swing will result in poor playing skills while a stable
and refined swing will make you highly successful.

In my past experiences, the best place to start learning would probably have to be at the mini putt course. This inspired me when i was young and i have developed the sense of charisma and have moved on from there. A couple of good lessons from a certified golf pro can really improve your game. It is also a good idea to know who you are learning from and to develop a repedable swing to your liking. Also bare in mind that learning golf takes time and patience. " I have been learning golf for about 4 years & my handicap is now 16 ". Many new golfers give up the moment they cannot improve their game, so if you are going to learn golf, make sure you are prepared to work hard on your swing, and to also be prepared to put alot of hard work into learning golf. I hope I have been helpful and Good Luck! |

If your interested in golf the best place to start is to take a beginner's lesson from a certified professional. I know it costs a bit more money but they will help you learn the proper fundamentals to start as well as keep everything simple. A lot of people tend to go out with the golfing enthusiast friend and get bombarded with information and tips leaving you confused and frusterated. Plus the teacher will provide you with clubs for the lesson so you dont have to make the commitment of buying clubs. Good luck and remember to have a good time. |

A lot of local junior colleges have courses in golf. You can try there as well as your local golf course. |

Just go to a public course that has an instructor that gives lessons and take a beginners one so he/ she can teach you the basics of the game. |

Like some of the other folks have mentioned, take some lessons from a local pro. My wife just took up the game and took some beginner lessons. The instructor covered all facets of the game and even gave them an instruction book to refer to when the lessons were completed. After covering the the full-swing shots with woods & irons, the instructor emphasized working on the short game. They spent alot of time working on shots from 50 yards & closer. |

I would highly recommend signing up for a series of lessons from one of your local PGA Teaching Professionials. |
