Many people when they are beginning to pick up golf spend more time perfecting their golf swing than discovering any other single skill for golf. I don't play college golf yet, but i have talked to people and coaches. Pretty much if you are a d1 school player the team owns you, you golf and you go to school you have no extra time, and d2 and d3 are more slack. They train more then high school, running and going to the gym. Matches are FAR away, so more traveling. Good luck
