Many people when they are beginning to pick up golf spend more time perfecting their golf swing than discovering any other single skill for golf. You should also expect to have this same need, after all a terrible golf swing will result in poor playing skills while a stable and refined swing will make you highly successful.

I would focus on your mechanics; learn the X step in your run up. Basically you are turning your lower body to put more leg muscles behind your throw, your hips will provide a lot of power to a throw. Also try a power grip on the disc. It helps to transfer more energy to the disc and thus results in the disc going farther. Hope this helps.
